DBKL and partners unveil KL’s 2026 tourism calendar and upgraded Hop-On Hop-Off service to boost city appeal ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), in partnership with Visit KL and Visit Malaysia 2026, unveiled the 2026 calendar at Jalan Tangsi while launching an upgraded KL Hop-On Hop-Off bus service. Asian Trucker attended the event, witnessing the launch and gaining firsthand insights into the refreshed initiative, which aims to position Kuala Lumpur as a modern, vibrant, and tourist-friendly city ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.

The new fleet features six open-top double-decker buses, purpose-built to enhance sightseeing and passenger comfort. Each bus is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and AI-powered commentary available in multiple languages, enabling passengers to explore and learn about the city’s landmarks, heritage sites, and popular attractions throughout the journey.

Datuk Seri Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, commented: “This demonstrates DBKL’s commitment to strengthen Kuala Lumpur as a tourism hub.”

The launch forms part of a wider strategy to boost tourism by making it easier for both residents and visitors to access the city’s cultural, historical, and commercial districts. The refreshed service emphasises convenience, accessibility, and a more engaging visitor experience, while also showcasing Kuala Lumpur’s readiness to welcome increased tourism activity in the lead-up to Visit Malaysia 2026.

The KL Hop-On Hop-Off service highlights a coordinated effort between government agencies and tourism operators to modernise public transport offerings, improve city connectivity, and raise Kuala Lumpur’s profile as a must-visit destination for local and international travellers alike.
