Prasarana Strengthens Commitment to Sustainable Mobility

KUALA LUMPUR, 8 July 2025 – Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) today reinforced its commitment to sustainable mobility with the launch of two specially wrapped Rapid KL double-decker buses. This marks its role as the Official Mobility Provider for the ASEAN Sustainable Urbanisation Forum (ASUF) 2025, which will be held this August in Kuala Lumpur.
The ceremony, held at the Kuala Lumpur SDG Centre, was officiated by YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Local Government Development, and Tuan Haji Mohamad bin Hamim, Executive Director (Project Management), Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). Prasarana was represented by Mr Amir Hamdan, Group Chief Operating Officer (Operations), and Mr Idzqandar Abu Bakar, Group Chief Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainable Development Officer.
The event also featured the unveiling of the official ASUF 2025 logo, now displayed on the exterior of Rapid KL buses as a symbol of Prasarana’s official involvement in the forum.
Prasarana will provide special shuttle bus services from 10 to 15 August, covering major routes such as KLCC, Bukit Bintang and several other attractions in the city centre. This service aims to enhance connectivity and promote the use of public transport. Additionally, Prasarana will organise technical visits to its operations control centre and depots to offer deeper insight into urban public transport operations. Other initiatives include participation in forum sessions and engagement programmes, a Children’s City Walk activity to educate children on the role of public transport in sustainable development, as well as involvement in the corporate exhibition booth.
Through this engagement, Prasarana continues to highlight its commitment to advancing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) practices and supporting the low-carbon agenda in urban areas. In line with the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 aspiration, this participation also demonstrates Prasarana’s readiness to support national urban initiatives while promoting sustainable travel experiences.
ASUF 2025 is organised by the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) through its agency URBANICE Malaysia, in collaboration with DBKL, the ASEAN Secretariat, UCLG ASPAC and UN-Habitat.
