China Auto Manufacturers (M) Sdn Bhd (CAM), the sales & marketing arm of light commercial vehicles under Sendok Group conducted the official launch of CAM Caravan, the 1st locally made caravan in Malaysia and the CAM Placer-X A6, the 18 seater 3.0L Van at the NST-MAI ASEAN Auto Show 2015 in MIECC.
YB Dato' Seri Ong Ka Chuan, the Minister of International Trade and Industry II was the guest of honour during the official launch of CAM products’ during the show.
With its catchy tagline “Home is wherever I’m with you”, CAM Caravan is a dream come true for people who enjoy self-drive vacations and the freedom of independent travelling. While being a state-of-the-art vehicle, it will be easy for interested people to make the decision for this motor home as it only requires a car licence to drive.
The CAM Caravan is built onto the Plutus, 2.8L TDi chassis and comes with Euro II emission compliant engine. It is able to carry 3-5 people in total in the cab.
Plutus' Caravan has a modern and comfortable interior design; it comes with many elegant, practical and easy to use accessories which include stylish furniture, overhead double bed and cabinet, single folding sofa bed, bathroom & shower, portable toilet and other comfortable and accessories needed for a life on the road.
For worry-free overnight stays the camper comes with a 100AH maintenance-free battery that can last up to 48 hours under normal usage after being charged for 4-5hours. To create an even more comfortable and cosy environment, CAM Caravan is equipped with air-conditioner and solar energy smart fan. The vehicle also comes with safety features such as ABS+EBD, anti-glare rear view mirror and rear reverse sensor with distance buzzer.
In conjunction with the launch, CAM is giving away CAM Caravan introductory offers for a time. This includes a RM5,000 voucher for bicycle equipment for bookings made between 12/11/2015 and 15/11/2015. The OTR price (private registration, inclusive of insurance) of the Plutus Caravan is RM206,980.28. Buyers of this vehicle enjoy 1 year or 30,000km warranty.
Also introduced at the exhibition was the CAM Placer-X A6. This mini bus has a modern and luxury exterior design, which comes with 215/75R16C alloy wheels, projection headlamps with running LED daylight and rear LED tail lamp. The passenger car-like interior design comes with double ion air ionizer, and the rear air-conditioning comes with nine air vents to supply cool air to the passenger zone. The vehicle also comes with safety features such as ABS+EBD, anti-glare rear view mirror and rear reverse sensor with distance buzzer.
The OTR price (private registration, inclusive of insurance) for the 3.0L DK5 diesel CAM Placer-X A6 van is RM139,396.60. Currently, the books are open for pre-order whereby vehicles will be delivered from 1st January 2016 onwards.
CAM Placer-X A6 also comes with a 3 years or 100,000km warranty (whichever comes first), and owners enjoy free towing during the warranty period.
