PRIDE and SPX Express Launch Buyer Self-Collection
Lockers at Five LRT Stations to Enhance Commuter
Convenience
KUALA LUMPUR, 30 September 2025 – Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn.
Bhd. (PRIDE), a subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana), today
announced a strategic partnership with SPX Express (SPX), a leading logistics partner
that empowers businesses across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Brazil. Together, they
will introduce self-automated parcel collection lockers at key Rapid KL LRT stations
across the Klang Valley, an initiative designed to enhance the commuting experience
by integrating parcel collection into transit routines.
With the introduction of the automated lockers, commuters will be able to pick up their
online purchases at their convenience, making shopping and commuting more
seamless.
Syed Redza Algadrie, Chief Executive Officer of PRIDE, said, “At PRIDE, we
continuously seek innovative ways to enhance the daily journeys and lifestyles of our
commuters. Through this partnership with SPX, we are redefining our train stations as
more than transit points, aligning with our vision of building smart, connected, and
commuter-friendly cities.”
Cheah Lee Sun, Head of SPX Express, said, “SPX is dedicated to making parcel
delivery more convenient and accessible for Malaysians. With the introduction of self
collection lockers, commuters can enjoy greater flexibility in managing their online
purchases, fitting parcel collection seamlessly into their daily routines.”
As part of the pilot phase, smart lockers will be installed at five (5) strategically located
stations: Lembah Subang, Taman Melati, Bangsar, and Ampang Park on the Kelana
Jaya Line, and Sentul Timur on the Ampang Line. These locations were chosen for
their strong connectivity and steady passenger flow, serving as key transit points for
daily commuters, students, and urban professionals.
Each SPX locker is fully automated, equipped with 24/7 CCTV monitoring, and
accessible during station operating hours, offering commuters a secure and hassle
free collection experience.
The lockers feature 284 compartments that can accommodate a wide range of parcel
sizes. Whether it is compact items, such as personal care products, or larger, bulkier
packages, like small appliances, commuters can trust that their parcels will be securely
stored until pickup.
“This initiative goes beyond convenience. It reflects PRIDE’s commitment to
integrating value-added services into Malaysia’s public transport ecosystem, making
stations more relevant and practical to the daily lives of commuters,” Syed said.
The pilot phase will enable PRIDE and SPX to observe user behaviour, gather
feedback, and refine the service to better meet commuter needs. The initiative reflects
a shared commitment to exploring smart, user-focused solutions that improve
accessibility and enhance the overall commuting experience.
Looking ahead, PRIDE plans to scale the initiative across its entire Klang Valley
network, extending the convenience of self-service parcel collection to more
Malaysians as it continues modernising the nation’s public transport hubs.
